VIMLABAI MUTHA NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LASER SCIENCE

The National Institute
of Laser Sciences was established under the patronage of Shri Lalchandji
Mutha in December 2002 and is located at the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital,
Pune.
The institute has
been established with the following objectives:
1. To undertake, promote and coordinate basic and clinical research in application of lasers in medicine and surgery.
2. To form a common platform/ fraternity of people working in the field of various applications of lasers in surgery and medicine.
3. To organize research activities e.g. workshops, seminars and instruction courses.
4. To publish periodicals and journals on application of lasers in surgery and medicine.
5. To collaborate with international foreign organizations / societies working in similar fields.
The institute has procured various lasers which are used in various branches of medicine.
These include the CO2, Diode, Nd-YAG and Argon lasers.
Since its inception, several conferences, workshops and courses have
been organized by the laser institute.
