Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport , Mumbai
Mumbai is India 's major financial and business centre and is well connected to most major countries by air, operated by all major international carriers. Domestic Airline companies offer services and all major cities and holiday centres are well connected with Mumbai. At a height of 26 feet above mean sea level, Mumbai airport serves as one of India 's major international airports. It operates throughout the day, and currently handles up to 35 landings and takeoffs per hour. International arrivals and departures are most frequent at night.

International terminals:
On arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport , the immigration, baggage retrieval and customs areas precede the remainder of the services. Exchange can be obtained at bank counters just outside the customs area. Hotel bookings and pre-paid taxis are available. There are no shops in the arrival area. The departure lounges are marginally better equipped for shopping. They also have a restaurant, a snack bar and exchange facility. However, check in and emigrations are chaotic because of the bunching of flights at night. Take advice for minimum checking times from your airline. Phones are available at both arrival and departure.

Domestic terminals :
The domestic airport is known as the Santacruz airport. Complementary transfers are available between the two airports. On arrival at the Santa Cruz airport the baggage retrieval area is skirted by counters for various services such as hotel reservations. There is no pre-paid taxi counter, although some auto-rentals may represent themselves as such. Taxis are available from a police monitored queue outside the terminal. The departure area has minimal shopping and a snack bar. Phones are available at both arrival and departure.
There are domestic flights between the Santacruz airport and Pune airport, with a short flying time of approximately 18 minutes. These are operated by Jet Airways ( http://www.jetairways.com/ ), and Indian Airlines ( http://www.indian-airlines.com/ ). One may have to wait for a few hours for connecting flight. The waiting lounges are also available.

Pune airport
Pune is connected by air to few metropolis in India such as Mumbai, Delhi , Ahmedabad, Bangalore , Hyderabad , etc. and few international flights also operate from Pune. However, most of the international airlines are coming to Mumbai, and one can travel to Pune either by air, rail or road.

Pune is some 160 KM away from Mumbai airport, and connected with highway part of the way. Travelling time: approximately four hours.
