JOURNAL OF INDIAN VOICE ASSOCIATION
Journal of Indian Voice Association publishes original articles on the clinical practices of voice and application of laser in otolaryngology. Authors are invited to submit papers that would be appropriate as main article, clinical records (case reports), how I do it ( surgical technique or use of technical innovation ) or letters to the editor.

POLICIES OF THE EDITOR BOARD

1. Manuscripts will be reviewed by the editor-in-chief with members of the editorial board and the other expert sources. Revision may be required as conditions of acceptance.
2. A manuscript is reviewed with the understanding that is not under consideration by any other journal and that no part of the submission has appeared previously in any but abstract form.
3. The letter transferring copyrights should be addressed to the editor and should state that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere and is solely contributed to the journal of Indian voice association. Manuscript sent without covering letter for transferring copyright, signed by the authors of the manuscript, will not be accepted for publication.
4. Manuscript should be neatly typed and written in correct English. Any mention of previously published study or data derived from them must be referenced. A search of the literature should not exclude sources published before 1966 (pre-midline) if they are pertinent to the current manuscripts.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE AUTHER

Main articles : usually 3000 words; historical / review articles: 2000 words

Clinical records (case reports); radiology; oncology; pathology: 1500 words;
How I do it surgical technique or use of technical innovation: 1500 words.
 

Main article/ case report / How I do it : the text should be checked for grammar and spellings prior to the submission. All measurements must normally be in metric unit. Only approved drug name should be used.

 

It should be written in the following headings :

Title, Abstract, Text, Acknowledgement, References
Title : the title of the paper should be typed in the capital letters on the top. The name of the author should be given below the title. The initials and the surname should be stated. Title such as "Dr" or "Mr" and academic qualification should not be mentioned either below the title or in the footnote. The footnote should mention name/s of the authors, the name of the institution, the meeting at which at the paper was read and acknowledgement and address with email id for correspondence with the main author. The footnote should appear on the title page.

Abstract and Key words (250 words)
Objectives, Study Design, Methods, Results, Conclusion
Key words- Only the words appearing as medical subject Headings.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

• References : References must be numbered consecutively according to the order of their citation in the text. Use number in parentheses for text citations. Vancouver system (Title- Journeal abbreviation, year of publication- volume number- first and last page numbers), Book ref-author-editor-book title-place of publication-year. It is important that the authors should verify personally the accuracy of each reference. The responsibility of having permission to reproduce illustrations and photographs from other published work will rest with the authors.


• Ilustrations :
Illustrations should be referred in the text as figure, table or photographs. The figure should be given Arabic numbers. The table should be given roman numbers made in black indian ink on separate white sheet. Illustrations should not be folded during transmission. The histopathological photographs should mention about the magnification and staining material.

Photographs should be unmounted, coloured or black and white prints with the top edge identified with an arrow and with the first author's name clearly written on the back by pencil. The photographs should be clearly identified with the figure number. Digital photographs should have been taken with at least a 1.2megapixel camera at the highest possible resolution. Radiographic pictures/scan is to be in 300dpi. In case of photographs of the patient a signed specific consent to publication must be submitted. For the minors signed parental permission is required.

• Covering letter :
Include a cover letter stating title, authors(s), and corresponding author's name and e-mail address, postal address, office and home phone numbers, and fax numbers. Covering letter should be attached with the letter transferring the copyright. Rejected manuscript will not be returned. Coloured illustrations will be returned.

• Submission :
Text should be computer typed and only on one side of the paper. The text must be in microsoft word and printed on A4 size paper with minimum margins of 2.5cm from all sides. The text should be 12 size font, Times new Roman and double spacing. Illustrations and tables should be placed at the end of the text. The CD must be clearly marked with author name and title of the paper. It should be single use CD.


• Electronic Submission :
Papers may be submitted by an e-mail to voicelaserdmh@hotmail.com or rakesh_iva@yahoo.com. All the submitted material should be in the same format as mentioned above. In case article is accepted the covering letter, Illustraions, Photographs, and article will normally be required by surface mail.
